Strategy of Oman Logistics Center 2040

The National Logistics Strategy 2040 focuses on advancing ports and airports and enhancing logistical infrastructure, thereby boosting the Sultanate of Oman's capacity to handle and distribute goods effectively. It aims to achieve seamless integration among ports, airports, free zones, and economic areas to maximize commercial and investment opportunities.

To achieve the objectives of this strategic vision, four key pillars are emphasized:

 

1. Markets:

  • Opportunity Analysis and Monitoring: Identifying and tracking opportunities within various sectors and locations where the logistics sector in Oman can attract business.

  • Project Implementation: Executing projects or activities that enable Oman to capture the targeted share of the road, sea, and air freight markets.

  • Brand Development: Designing and developing a distinctive and appealing local, regional, and global brand for logistics services.

  • Marketing Strategy: Adopting a clear and intensive marketing policy locally, regionally, and internationally to achieve goals and monitor success.

 

2. Trade Facilitation:

  • Transaction Systems Improvement: Revolutionizing transaction systems governing the movement, inspection, and financing of cross-border, port, and airport freight, as well as the entire supply chain.

  • Business Environment Enhancement: Boosting the appeal of establishing, registering, and licensing logistics businesses, both local and international, including workforce considerations.

  • Performance Metrics: Implementing and monitoring measures for performance assessment and continuous improvement.

 

3. Logistical Technology:

  • Technology Utilization: Leveraging advanced technologies as a competitive tool to enhance transportation and logistics services within Oman’s supply chain, facilitating trade, and achieving logistics goals.

  • Infrastructure Optimization: Ensuring optimal use of logistics infrastructure in line with demand.

  • IT Programs and Incentives: Proposing programs, incentives, or legislation in information technology to optimize the supply chain in Oman.
