Overview of the Drone Delivery Service Project:
The drone delivery service project was launched in Muscat, coinciding with the celebration of Muscat as the Arab Digital Capital of 2022. This project aims to enable residents of villages to benefit from fast and effective delivery services, especially in areas difficult to access by vehicles. The project is implemented in collaboration with "UVL," a company specializing in Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies. It provides daily delivery services for parcels and goods, contributing to speeding up delivery times and improving the beneficiaries' experience. This service adds significant value to the logistics sector, enhancing supply chain integration and addressing geographical challenges faced by residents of remote areas. The project also aims to serve tourists visiting the tourist villages in Muscat. The Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology plays a pivotal role in this project by supporting the development of modern logistics services. The ministry emphasizes the importance of using modern technologies to meet the needs of citizens and residents, reflecting the efforts made towards digital transformation. It also aims to enhance Muscat as a smart city, aligning with Oman Vision 2040 and the sultanate's goals to benefit from the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
