Open Data Meeting:

The Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology, represented by the National Center for Space, Advanced Technologies, and Artificial Intelligence, held a meeting on open data with participation from various state administrative units. The meeting highlighted the importance of open data in improving and enhancing the readiness of government services and sharing best practices in data collection and publication, along with successful experiences from governmental institutions in this field. The meeting reviewed the national open data platform being developed in collaboration with "Rahhal" to serve as a central reference for all open data published by various government entities. The National Center for Space, Advanced Technologies, and Artificial Intelligence will oversee the platform's management and development to ensure its sustainability and compliance with national and international policies and standards. The meeting also addressed the National Data Strategy aimed at organizing the management and implementation of the open data policy across various government sectors under the ministry's supervision. Several governmental entities that implemented the principles and policies of open data were honored during the meeting, including the Environment Authority, the Ministry of Information, Muscat Municipality, the State Financial and Administrative Control Authority, the Ministry of Justice and Legal Affairs, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation, the Financial Services Authority, Dhofar Municipality, the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, and the General Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones.
