Government Cloud services is envisioned to setup a shared infrastructure including server, storage, and applications to meet Omani government IT infrastructure needs. G-cloud will allow ministries to focus on their core business, and thereby increasing their agility, improving efficiency and reducing the IT budget. 

Main Objectives of G-Cloud

• Provide shared infrastructure to government entities to host their infrastructure, platform, applications, services.

• Ensure that computing resources and the support connectivity infrastructure (MPLS/Internet) are adequately and optimally used.

• Support Open source direction of MTC (Oman).

• Provide all three cloud service delivery models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS).

• Ensure the automatic, dynamic provisioning of resources to government entities.

• Transfer Open source development know-how to local Omani resources.
