GCC Ministerial Committee for Posts and Telecommunications Holds 27th Meeting

Oman took part in the 27th meeting of the GCC Ministerial Committee for Posts and Telecommunications. At the meeting, hosted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Oman was represented by the Ministry of Transports, Communications and Information Technology.

The meeting was chaired by Eng. Said Hamoud Al Ma’awali, Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, with Oman as Chair. It was attended by Dr. Ali Amer Al Sheedhani, Undersecretary for Communications and Information Technology, as Head of the Omani delegation.

The committee reviewed the Secretariat General’s report on the progress made on implementing the committee's decisions taken at its 26th meeting. It also followed up the realization of joint initiatives in the postal and telecommunications sectors.

The committee also endorsed a proposal submitted by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology on re-studying the GCC ministerial committee’s specialization.
