MTCIT discusses GPT-3 technology in artificial intelligence and its economic and social impacts
The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology (MTCIT) organized on Sunday a workshop on GPT-3 technology in artificial intelligence and its economic and social impacts. The workshop was under the patronage of HE Dr. Ali bin Amur Al Shidhani, Undersecretary Communications and Information Technology at MTCIT, and with the participation of a number of representatives of government agencies, the private sector and a number of representatives of local startups.
The workshop comes from the Ministry's keenness to deal with this type of modern technologies proactively and prepare for what this technology requires in terms of the appropriate environment and discuss mechanisms that facilitate its activation and productivity in the Sultanate of Oman. Moreover, the discussions and outputs of this workshop will be used to define a clear roadmap to work with the relevant authorities to facilitate the incubation of this technology in the Sultanate in a practical and rapid manner.
The workshop aimed to introduce participants to GPT-3 technology and discuss the investment opportunities available in the Sultanate of Oman. in addition to the legal and legislative aspects and the importance of updating them to accommodate the renewable technologies that can be developed as a result of the adoption of these advanced technologies as well the new challenges and opportunities that may accompany them.
The workshop also discussed the most important challenges that this technology can cause in all industries if used irresponsibly;
