Cypriot delegation visits ITA
Aiming to exchange expertise The Information Technology Authority (ITA) received a delegation from Cyprus, including George Michaelides, Commissioner of Electronic Communications and Postal Regulation, and Antony Antone’s, Chairman of the Digital Security Authority of the Republic of Cyprus.
The visit included a meeting with Dr. Salim Al Ruzaiqi, CEO of ITA, and meetings with the cybersecurity concerned divisions in ITA. The delegation listened to a presentation about the e.oman Strategy and its achievements, and the Oman CERT roles and achievements, in addition to its role in developing and defining technical standards and legal legislation related to cybersecurity.
The delegation was briefed on the services of the Arab Regional Cybersecurity Center, which is hosted by the Sultanate represented by the Information Technology Authority. The presentation focused on the Center's efforts to address cyber-attacks and penetrations of the Arab and regional countries, and Advisory services.
The Cypriot delegation is due to complete its program today with a visit to the National Digital Forensics Laboratory, which was launched by the ITA in 2016 in cooperation with the law enforcement institutions to deal with digital evidence and the protection of ICT users in the Sultanate.
