The Sultanate of Oman participates in the 26th meeting of the Executive Committee for E-Government in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries
The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, participated in the 26th meeting of the Executive Committee for e-Government in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, which was hosted by the State of Qatar, on 5th Jun, 2024 AD, in the presence of Their Excellencies the heads of e-government bodies and programs in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries. Arabic, in addition to the presence of specialists from the General Secretariat of the Council.
The Sultanate of Oman’s delegation was headed by Engineer Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Kharousi, Director General of Digital Transformation and Sector Empowerment at the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology.
During its meeting, the committee discussed many topics on the agenda, including: reviewing the General Secretariat’s report on what was done regarding the implementation of the committee’s decisions at its 26th meeting, and the indicative strategic initiatives for e-government in the GCC countries, in addition to topics related to shared electronic services between the GCC countries. And initiatives related to Artificial Intelligence, and the unified purchase of software for the GCC countries. The committee also reviewed the working papers submitted by the GCC member states in the field of e-government, in addition to discussing the results of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia hosting the GCC Digital Government Award in its fifth session, which was held for the period from December 19 to 20, 2023 in Riyadh.
